How to override Displayport output when multiple screens remain blank with IPR

Written by Giuseppe

Certain High resolution displays, especially when used in conjunction with AMD's Eyefinity feature, may not properly function and remain blank despite being properly configured. With AMD's professional range of graphics cards, it is possible to apply EDID emulation to work around the screen's incompatibility, which basically forces a DP output to use the given settings. To access EDID emulation, you will need to have the latest official drivers installed. Right-click on the Windows desktop and select "AMD Radeon Pro and AMD FirePro Advanced Settings", then select "EDID Emulation" in the left-hand menu (lcated under "AMD Radeon Pro and AMD FirePro").

Check "Force EDID Emulation" and check all ports for which you want to activate the option. Click "Manage EDID". You will then be prompted with the window below, allowing you to make adjustments to your output. Please make sure that these are compatible with your screen(s).

You may need to start Windows in safe mode or use an alternate screen to make these adjustments, if the screens you are planning to display IPR content on do not accept the standard output.
