Getting to know the new Monitoring tab

Written by Giuseppe

Requirements before you begin

  • User permission to access the Monitoring tab

  • Longitude and latitude information present on a Player's Player Properties, if you wish to view it on the Location map

In this article, we will outline the new Monitoring tab, including how to filter and interpret your Players' status, and how to use the new Location map to view your Players geographically.

Accessing Monitoring

  • From the Player panel, select the Groups and/or Players you'd like to see monitoring data for

  • Head to the top navigation bar and click Monitoring

You'll land on the Overview tab by default, alongside a second tab, Location map.

From here, you can determine your Players' current state, review any recorded alerts, and publish content.

Filtering by status

At the top of the Overview, you'll find your Selected players count, alongside a live breakdown by status:

  • Active — the Player is powered on and connected with no errors

  • Inactive — the Player is not currently reporting in

  • Offline — the Player is not currently connecting to the server

  • Warning — the Player has pending alerts that need reviewing

Each status has its own checkbox. Untick a status to remove those Players from the table below — for example, unticking Active will filter your results down to only Players with an issue.

Top Tip

Unlike a simple single-status filter, you can combine multiple statuses at once here — for example, viewing Offline and Warning together to focus only on Players that need attention.

Action buttons

Along the top right, you'll find:

  • Clear alerts — dismiss active alerts for your selected Players

  • Export — download your current table view as a CSV file

  • Publish — push the latest available content to your selected Players

The Overview table

Your results are grouped by Group hierarchy, shown as a breadcrumb heading above each set of rows (for example, _Westfield Mall Advertising Network/Landscape). Each column can be sorted using the arrows in its header.

The Location map

Alongside the Overview, the Location map gives you a fully interactive, geographical view of your Players.

  • Click Location map to switch to this view

Each Player is plotted as a coloured dot, indicating its connectivity status:

  • Green — Active and connected with no errors

  • Red — Offline and not currently connecting to the server

  • Yellow — Warning — there are pending alerts to review

  • Grey — The associated licence has been deactivated; this shows the Player's last-known location

Interacting with the map

  • Click and drag to reposition the visible area of the map

  • Click any dot to see which Player it corresponds to

  • Zoom in or out using your mouse/trackpad scroll, or the + and buttons in the top left of the map

Please Note

All of the same status filtering and action buttons available on the Overview tab — filtering by status, Clear alerts, Export, and Publish — are also available from the Location map.

Summary

With multi-select status filtering and a fully interactive geographical map now built directly into the Monitoring tab, you're able to quickly identify and act on any Players across your Network that need attention.
