Domain-Level Custom Font Management

Written by Giuseppe

Requirements before you begin

  • Access to Domain and User Management

  • Your TrueType (.ttf) or OpenType (.otf) font file ready to upload

In Qompose, you can keep your QL Server on-brand by uploading custom fonts at both the server and domain levels, giving you true customisation. In this article, we will outline how to upload custom fonts, so they appear as the default font available across Templates and content creation for users within that Domain. We'll also cover setting a default font across your entire server.

Uploading a custom font to a Domain

  1. Click Settings in the top right-hand side of your Navori Server

  2. From the Domain and User Management dropdown, select Domain and Users

  3. Right-click the Domain you'd like to add your new font to, and select Edit to enter the Domain properties

  4. On the General tab, scroll down to the Default Font section

  5. Select Upload and choose the TrueType or OpenType file for the font you'd like to use

  6. Press Open — your new font will appear listed in a separate table below

  • To use your font, select the Default Font dropdown — your newly uploaded font will now appear as an option

  • Press Save Settings to confirm your changes

Once uploaded, users who are part of the Domain you've added your custom font to will see it as their default font when creating content in the Template Designer.

Please Note

Users of commercial fonts should be aware of the terms of their font's license, as this may require purchasing individual licenses per Player. Some fonts available under Creative Commons or similar "freeware" licenses may permit commercial use only under certain restrictions. It's your responsibility to review and respect your font's licensing terms.

Setting a default font for your whole server

Rather than scoping a font to a single Domain, you can also set a default font across your entire server.

  • Click Settings in the top right-hand side of your Navori Server

  • Select Server, then Properties

  • On the General tab, choose a Default font from the list, or upload your own

Please Note

A font set at Domain level will take precedence over the server-wide default for users within that Domain.

Summary

With custom fonts uploadable at both Domain and server level, you're able to control your default typeface as broadly or as precisely as you need — whether that's one consistent font across your entire Network, or a specific font scoped to a single Domain's users.
