QL Spy can be configured in a few easy steps.
1. If QL Player is running, exit the application via Alt+Tab > Exit.
2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Navori\Navori QL Player folder.
3. Double-click NavoriQLSpy.exe, note that if you're setting it up to launch another application, you need to select the .exe based on the target application architecture, 32 or 64 bits.
4. Copy/Paste or type in the full path to the third party application in the Application Path field. Alternatively, click the Ellipsis (…) button and navigate to the application’s executable file.
PLEASE NOTE: If you don’t configure a third party application, you can still trigger a single content via interactivity. However, QL Spy requires the QL Trigger add-on to be purchased and activated on the Player. If QL Trigger is not activated, content will not switch over when QL Spy detects interactivity.
Instructions to Trigger Media inside Published Trigger Folder:
1. Add a Media into the Published Trigger folder.
2. Send a publish to the player so that the media is now stored on the player.
3. Keep the Navori engine open and minimized and Launch QL SPY from the Navori root folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Navori\Navori QL Player folder.
4. Do not enter anything into the Path, simply click on the Trigger Application button and select Automatically launch so that when the player is rebooted the SPY will automatically launch.
Do not forget the spy application can take up to 5-10 minutes to start upon reboot.
ALSO NOTE: QL Spy will only trigger a single content item. QL Spy does not support multi content triggering or playlist triggering.
5. Set the Delay Time (in seconds) to determine how long QL Spy will wait after a period of inactivity to restore QL Player to the foreground. Default value is 15 seconds so if this setting is left unchanged, QL Spy will restore QL Player after 15 seconds of inactivity (no one moving a mouse or touching the screen associated with the Player PC).
6. Checking the “Launch Automatically” box will ensure QL Spy is active each time the PC is rebooted.
7. Click Trigger Application to launch the third party application and test it is functional.
8. Click Minimize to close this window and minimize QL Spy to the Windows tool bar.
9. Click Exit to close the QL Spy application. Once this button has been clicked, interactivity will not be monitored.
PLEASE NOTE: Upon reboot the SPY application can take up to 5-10 minutes to start up.
Gotcha! – Please be careful when adding a media into the Published Trigger folder, If there is a Published Trigger Media added to a parent group AND a local group containing the player. The SPY will fail to detect the media in the Published Trigger folder and you will receive the follow error message.
You may only have 1 Published Trigger Media for the SPY.
