Setting up Computer Vision AI Module for STIX 3800

Written by Giuseppe

The STIX 3800 now incorporates a NPU chip capable of supporting our AI Camera Vision module for footfall and dwell time!

To setup this functionality, you will require the following:

  • “AI Powered Audience Analytics” addon for your QL Player

  • 1x Navori provided camera (contact your account manager to obtain your hands on one).
You can also use a android-compatible USB camera.

  • 1x STIX 3800 device

STEPS TO ACTIVATE:

1. First thing to do, is to ensure that your “AI Powered Audience Analytics” addon is activated on your QL Player, do this by navigating to the last page of the player properties on the CMS:

2. Secondly, install and secure your camera in a appropriate location for detection, connect the USB cable into the device as well.

3. Then, back in the CMS, navigate to the 2nd page of the same player's properties and activate the Camera feature:

You must also set the appropriate rotation for the camera in its physical installation, see below references for positioning:

Once this is done, simply send a publish to your device, or wait for the next auto-publish to apply this Camera activation.

4. You're all set! Simply await the next analytics compilation cycle of the player (60 minutes be default) and you may review the collection of data via the CMS' Analytics page, under the Audience section:

5. OPTIONAL - You may also preview the camera's view via the activation of the “Show Live Preview” option on the Navori Conductor's settings.

Simply navigate to the conductor app on the STIX 3800, go to the settings section and find the Computer Vision category. Click on the “Show Live Preview” option and select the “True” option. To see the camera's view, you will need to restart the conductor app, or restart the device itself.
