Below is the results of my investigation of playback issues reported by Sagenet. The client tested new content in their most recent feedback provided on the ticket, so I recompiled the new content to 1920x1080 at 30FPS (H.264). I have also included recordings showing the described behavior. QL playback was the same for both the XD1034 and the Stix 3700, so I only included freeze frame footage of the XD1034 playback.
XD1034 Using QL:
For all time stamps in this email the format is Minutes:Seconds:Frames.
First video run time is 00:13:17 the video runs until roughly 00:13:04 on each playback and the screen fades to black for 2-5 frames.
The second video then starts at 00:00:04 and playback is smooth. The runtime is 00:24:23 however at 00:23:29 almost full second early the transitions starts and the screen fades to black for 2-5 frames.
The next content starts at 00:00:03. The runtime is 00:17:29 at 00:17:26 the transition starts and the screen fades to black for 2-5 frames.
Final video starts at 00:00:03. The runtime is 01:26:12 at 01:125:28 the transition starts and the screen fades to black for 2-5 frames. Next video begins at 00:00:04.

Similar to BrightSign the playback has a brief black flash between each piece of content, as well as, the frames are being skipped at the end and start of the content.

Closest to perfect. Some slight lag on end frame, but ZERO frames skipped and no black screen between transitions. In my opinion without slowing down the recording this playback appears flawless.

Conclusion
While BrightAuthor does lag on the end frame it does not skip any frames at the start or end of the content and playback appears flawless. Most noticeable is the lack of a black screen during transition between content. The issues found with QL that are consistent across both the XD1034 and Stix3700 are:
