Playlists are content loops that play over a set duration. In this article, we will outline how to schedule a Playlist by adding it to your Schedule panel, creating a time slot that determines how long it plays on your Player(s).
Adding a Playlist to your Schedule
Your Playlists panel shows all the Playlists available to schedule.
Click and drag your desired Playlist into the Schedule panel
Drop the Playlist on the day of your choice to begin
Please Note
Your Schedule panel shows a weekly view. The current day is always highlighted, with a thin red line indicating the current time of day.
Configuring your time slot
Once dropped, the Time slot window will open, listing all currently scheduled Playlists for that day, including the one you just added.
To swap the Playlist assigned to this time slot, click the drop-down menu in the Playlist column on the left
To adjust the start and end times, click into the relevant field and edit the values
To change the Merge Option, select Sequential (default) or Reorder
Sequential (default): the Playlist plays from start to finish, in full, before the Schedule moves on to any other Playlist sharing the same time slot.
Reorder: instead of playing the whole Playlist in one go, only a set number of assets play at a time (defined by Nb. Media), before control passes to the next Playlist in the time slot. This repeats in rotation, cycling back through each Playlist a few assets at a time rather than all at once.
Please Note
Reorder only affects how this Playlist shares time with others in the same slot — it has no effect if it's the only Playlist scheduled.
Top Tip
Think of Sequential as "finish mine, then yours," and Reorder as "one from mine, one from yours, back to mine." For example, if a Playlist is set to Reorder with Nb. Media set to 1, and it shares its time slot with a Sequential Playlist, playback will alternate: one asset from the Reorder Playlist, then the entire Sequential Playlist, then back to the next asset in the Reorder Playlist, and so on.
To delete a time slot, click the X in the far-right column
Top Tip
Time slots can be unique (occurring only once) or set to repeat across several days or months — a time slot can even be scheduled to play during the same period every day for up to an entire year.
Adding further time slots
From the same Time slot window, click Add to create an additional time slot without leaving the window
