QL Player Setup - Install on BrightSign XT, XD and HD

Navori QL Player installation on BrightSign

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. BrightSign Player

  2. Class 10 Micro SD Card (We recommend purchasing the SD Card through BrightSign)

FILE PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Download the ACTIVATION.JSON file.

  2. Open the activation.json file in a text editor such as notepad.

  3. Modify activation.json file, so that the location with the license number and server reflect the information from the Navori QL Server URL, and the available player license number.

  4. Save the newly modified activation.json file maintaining the .json file extension. (Make certain that the file does not have a .txt file extension appended to the name.)

  5. Download the Navori Player software for BrightSign, from the Navori CMS eg: https://saas.navori.com Navigate to Gear Icon (bottom left) > Player Management > Download QL Player > BrightSign.

  6. You will have 3 files to add to the root of the SD Card. 1 – activation.json, 2 - autorun.brs, 3 – NavoriQLPlayer.zip (Do not unzip the NavoriQLPlayer.zip file).

  7. (Optional) Using a computer and SD card reader, you can format the card as exFAT and add the 3 files to the root of the SD Card. Doing so which would replace steps 11 and 12 below.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Power on the device.

2. On the initial screen you will observe the IP Address and Device Serial Number, please take note of this information.

3. Access the device portal by opening the Chrome browser and entering the IP address in the URL field.

4. Enter the Username: admin

5. Enter the Password: {is the device serial number}

6. Navigate to the Control menu, then select “Factory Reset” to reset the BrightSign player, then wait for the reboot to complete. (Optional, and if the device is not new.)

7. Access the device portal open Chrome and enter the IP address.

8. Enter the Username: admin

9. Enter the Password: {is the device serial number}

10 Navigate to the Diagnostics menu, then select Disable Autorun, and then insert the SD card and wait for the reboot to complete.

11. Navigate to the Diagnostics menu, select Format Storage (exFat) to format the card through the BrightSign menu. (Skip this step if File Preparation step 7 was completed)

12 Navigate to the SD menu (A), Browse (B) to select all 3 files listed above and Upload Files (C) to copy the files specified to the card. (Skip this step if File Preparation step 7 was completed)

13. Restart the BrightSign and wait until the Navori Software to complete.

At the end of the process, you will see a logo animation appear on the display.
