1. Screen Control
Overview:
The screen control feature allows you to remotely turn the screen ON or OFF using the Stix 3800 via the CMS and QL Mobile.
Supported Screens:
Tizen (versions 4 to 7)
WebOS (versions 4 and 6)
Philips A8, Hisense, ViewSonic, Sharp NEC, Sony, Vestel, and BenQ
Prerequisites:
✔️ Stix 3800
✔️ LAN connection between Stix 3800 and the screen
✔️ Two RJ-45 cables
Setup:
Connect the Stix 3800 to the internet using the WAN port (RJ-45 cable).
Connect the Stix 3800 to the screen via HDMI.
Connect the LAN port of the Stix 3800 to the screen's Ethernet port using an RJ-45 cable.
If the WAN is not connected to a PoE switch, use a USB-C power cable for power.
How to Control the Screen from CMS:
Open Player Properties in the CMS.
Navigate to the second tab.
Select a technical profile with a predefined ON/OFF schedule or define it manually.
If a camera is connected, enable Smart Efficiency to turn off the screen when no one is detected and turn it back on when movement is detected.
How to Control the Screen from QL Mobile:
Log into QL Mobile.
Go to Settings.
Select the player connected to the screen.
Toggle the ON/OFF button.
2. Programmatic Ad Media Sync (Vistar and Hivestack)
Overview:
The Ad Sync feature allows synchronized playback of ads and content across multiple screens using the Vistar and Hivestack platforms.
Prerequisites:
✔️ Vistar/Hivestack Add-on
✔️ Content Synchronization Add-on
✔️ Technical profile with a linked Vistar or Hivestack network (Vistar Network ID + Vistar Key)
✔️ Ready-to-use ad campaign on the Vistar/Hivestack platform
✔️ At least two players for content synchronization
Setup:
1. Add an Advertising Media:
o Go to +Media > Advertising > Vistar/Hivestack and add a Vistar/Hivestack container.
2. Set the Duration:
o Match the duration to the ad content duration.
3. Add to Playlist:
o Include the container in a playlist alongside other media.
4. Ensure Synchronization is Active:
o Synchronization will occur if the Content Sync Add-on is active and the container has a set duration.
3. Share of Voice
Overview:
The Share of Voice feature allows you to define how frequently each piece of content in a playlist plays by setting a target playback percentage.
Prerequisites:
✔️ A playlist with at least two media items.
Setup:
Open Playlist Settings.
Enable Share of Voice (A table will appear showing the current percentage values).
Adjust the percentage values so the total equals 100%.
Click Generate.
The playlist will adjust the content frequency to match the defined percentages.
4. BrightSign Trigger
Overview:
This feature allows triggering specific media playback using an external keyboard connected to a BrightSign player.
Prerequisites:
✔️ A BrightSign player
✔️ An external keyboard connected to the BrightSign player
Setup:
Place the desired media file in the Triggers folder under the Published subfolder in the CMS.
Name the file "Trigger Media."

5. Place’n’Learn
Overview:
This feature allows interactive content playback when a physical object or product is placed on a sensor-equipped shelf or display.
Example Use Case:
When a product is placed on the sensor, a related promotional video or content is triggered.
When the product is removed, the content stops or switches to default content.
Prerequisites:
✔️ Place’n’Learn sensor
✔️ QL player connected to the sensor
Setup:
Add a Place’n’Learn event in QL.
Link the sensor to the event.
Assign the content to be displayed when the sensor is triggered.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Can I control multiple screens using one Stix 3800?
No, each Stix 3800 can only control one screen at a time.
2. What happens if the Vistar/Hivestack ad container has no set duration?
Synchronization will not work unless a duration is defined.
3. Can I set Share of Voice for live content?
No, Share of Voice applies only to static content in playlists.
4. Can I display multiple room bookings at once?
No, only the current and next booking can be displayed.
5. What happens if the BrightSign player loses internet connection?
The trigger feature will still work if the media file is stored locally.
