Using the Trash folder in your Content Library

Written by Giuseppe

In QL2, deleting a piece of content removed it instantly and permanently, with no way to recover it. In Qompose, content can now be moved to a recoverable Trash first, giving you a safety net against accidental deletion. In this article, we'll cover how to move content to the Trash and restore it.

Trashing an item

  • Hover over the asset you'd like to remove, and click the trash can icon that appears

  • Alternatively, right-click the asset and select Remove

Please Note

You may see a confirmation message stating that this action "cannot be undone"—this message is inaccurate and is a known issue. Trashing an item here does not permanently remove it; it remains fully recoverable.

Accessing your Trash

In the Content Library, a permanent Trash folder now appears alongside the other default folders (Media & Templates, Datafeed, Ticker and Smart Folders)

  • Head to your Library along the left-hand side

  • Click on Trash

You'll now see a list of all trashed content, along with its type (Template, Video, HTML, etc.) and duration, just as it would have appeared in your Library.

Restoring an item

  • Hover over the item you wish to restore within your Trash

  • Click Restore

Upon restoring an item, it will return to its original folder location within your Library, exactly as it was before it was trashed.

Summary

With deleted content now held safely in Trash rather than removed instantly, you can trash and restore content with confidence, without the risk of losing it to accidental deletion.
