What's New in the Qompose CMS

Written by Giuseppe

In this article, we will highlight what's new about the Qompose CMS, covering the redesigned interface and the features that have changed since QL2.

A refreshed, familiar experience

The QL3 Manager has been fully redesigned with a cleaner, more modern interface. While the overall flow will feel familiar if you've used QL2 before, you'll notice a sleeker look throughout, along with a handful of genuinely new capabilities covered below.

Light and Dark theme

You can now switch your Manager's appearance between Light and Dark theme at any time, using the toggle in the top right corner.

Top Tip

Switching theme applies instantly across your whole Manager, not just the panel you're currently viewing.

New Monitoring layout

Monitoring has been redesigned to surface more detail at a glance:

  • A new table view presents more granular player values, making it easier to diagnose issues without drilling into individual Players

  • A Location map now sits alongside this table, showing where your Players are situated

Please Note

To learn more about the Location Map and the Monitoring tab, see this article.

Server Dashboard

A new Server Dashboard gives administrators a top-level, real-time view of network health directly within the Manager.

  • The Dashboard tab surfaces live counts for Selected, Connected, Offline and Alerted Players, along with Total Players, Users, API calls, CMS calls, Storage and Credits for your selected scope

  • A Screens by OS family breakdown and Credits distribution chart give a quick visual summary of your network makeup

  • A Customer domain details table lists Screens, Connected count, Availability and CMS calls per customer, with Export CSV available for reporting

  • The Activity log tab lets you search and filter recent system activity by App type, Log type or Function Name, showing a detailed Impressions table of recent calls

Top Tip

Domain switching: Use the domain tree on the left-hand side to switch between domains at any time, instantly updating the entire CMS to reflect the selected domain's configured view. No more logging in and out of different user accounts with different views.

Advertising Module

The Advertising Module is an entirely new addition to Qompose that allows you to turn your digital signage network into a retail media network. For full details on setting up and managing advertising campaigns, see our dedicated Advertising Module section of the Help Centre.

Navigating the new Scheduling Grid panel

The Scheduling Grid keeps the same underlying structure you're used to — one of four panels working side-by-side with Player, Library, and Playlists — but with a more streamlined, condensed design.

  • Days are now collapsed by default. Click the arrow beside a day to expand it and view its hourly breakdown

    • Expanding a day with Audience data configured will also display an audience chart beneath its timeline, showing Average and Median figures alongside an hour-by-hour breakdown.

  • Use the date picker to jump directly to any date, or click Current Week to return to today

Please Note

Ad content and Tickers are no longer scheduled from within this grid. Advertising campaigns are now managed entirely from the dedicated Advertising Module, and Tickers are added directly onto a Playlist by dragging and dropping them into place, rather than being scheduled as their own row. See this article for more information on using Tickers in Qompose.

A new side panel for editing content

Editing properties throughout your CMS now opens in a dedicated side panel, rather than the paged pop-up window used previously. What appears in this panel depends on the type of element you're editing, and is organized into clearly separated, collapsible sections (for example, General, Playback rules, Advanced, Reporting, and History for a Media asset).

You can access this side panel by right-clicking any supported element and selecting Edit. Within the Manager, this applies across:

  • Players and Groups

  • Media assets and Content

  • Playlists

  • Schedules and the Scheduling Grid

Please Note

Tickers, Data Feeds, and Templates continue to open in their own dedicated window rather than this side panel.

Top Tip

This side panel isn't limited to the Manager — you'll find the same panel used consistently for editing settings throughout the rest of the CMS as well.

Summary

Qompose's new and intuitive CMS keeps your workflow the same, wrapped in a cleaner, more modern interface. With Light/Dark theme, a more detailed Monitoring layout, and a brand-new Server Dashboard, you have more visibility into your network than ever before — while Advertising gets a Help Centre section all of its own.
