In this article, we will outline how to preview a Video Stream asset in real time, directly from its properties, before saving.
What's new
Previously, adding a Video Stream meant entering a URL with no way to confirm it actually worked until you'd saved and published it to a Player. You can now preview the live stream directly within the asset's properties as soon as you enter its URL.
Adding and previewing a Video Stream
In your Content Library, click + Import
Select Video stream from the dropdown
Under Content informations, enter your stream's Url
Ensure Enable is ticked
Click the ▶ play button to preview your stream
Your stream will now play live, directly within the asset's properties — exactly as it will appear once published to a Player.
Give your asset a Name
Click Save settings to confirm
Summary
With your Video Stream previewing live directly from its properties, you're able to confirm a stream is working correctly before it's ever published to a Player — no more guessing whether a URL is valid until content is already live.
