A Navori Stix 3800 Player
Full administrator access (Technical Profile settings are restricted to full administrator accounts)
In this article, we will outline how to remotely override a Player's engine position and size using the new Engine Position settings within your Technical Profile.
What is Engine Position?
Your Player's engine position determines where and at what size the Navori playback engine renders on-screen. Previously, adjusting this required physical access to the device itself. You can now configure this remotely, directly from your Technical Profile settings in the CMS.
Please Note
This feature is currently supported on Navori Stix 3800 Players only. Support for additional Player types is planned for a future release.
Overriding your Player's Engine Position
Click the Settings icon in the top navigation bar
Head to Player Management > Technical Profile
Select the Technical Profile you wish to edit (or create a new one)
Click the Advanced tab
Under STIX PLAYBACK SETTINGS, tick the Show Advanced checkbox
Ensure the ENABLE_ENGINE_POS checkbox is selected
Configure the following fields:
ENGINE_POS_X — the horizontal position of the playback engine
ENGINE_POS_Y — the vertical position of the playback engine
ENGINE_POS_WIDTH — the width of the playback engine
ENGINE_POS_HEIGHT — the height of the playback engine
Click Save settings
Please Note
Engine Position settings are configured per Technical Profile — different profiles can have different Engine Position values, allowing you to apply different overrides to different groups of Players.
Summary
With Engine Position settings now available directly within your Technical Profile, you can remotely override a Stix 3800 Player's playback position and size without needing physical access to the device — and because this is configured per profile, different groups of Players can have their own unique overrides.
