The Players Panel is the leftmost panel in the Qompose user interface and houses all of your media players/licences, groups, and subgroups.
A licence (identified by a grey check-box) becomes a media player (coloured checkbox; colour depends on device connectivity status) once it has been activated against a player. These media players are then organised into groups and subgroups depending on how you wish to organise your digital signage estate.
What you can do from the Players panel
The Players window is where you'll spend much of your time managing your network. From here, you can:
Manage and organise your QL Players into groups and sub-groups
Search for a specific QL Player
View a Player's current status and carry out tasks against it
Open the Monitoring window
Open the Analytics window
Return to the default dashboard view
Publish content and programs to your Players
Generate a program preview
Understanding the Qompose hierarchy
The main view shows your groups and sub-groups organized as a series of levels.
The top level is the root. Content and playlists assigned here can be shared across every sub-group beneath it (Players can only be assigned directly to the root if no sub-groups exist under it)
The levels beneath the root are your groups. Content and playlists assigned here can be shared within that group's own sub-groups (again, Players can only be assigned here if no sub-groups exist under it)
Groups can be subdivided further into sub-groups. Players are always assigned at the lowest level of the hierarchy — the local level — and content assigned here can't be shared with any other sub-group
Click the 🔽 or ▶️ arrows beside a level's name to expand or collapse it. Checking the selection box at the root level selects every Player in every level beneath it, while checking a box next to a specific group or sub-group selects only the Players it contains.
With your Players organized into this hierarchy, you're ready to manage content, playlists, and permissions at whichever level makes sense for your network.
